The tears are just streaming down my face I’m so HAPPY to see Gil has an album out. I know how long and hard he has worked battling demons and other monsters. It’s so wonderful to see his face again!!!! Gil you will always be “the best.” :)

I’m pretty sure that the Craig Charles program is not available as a Podcast on a weekly basis. Therefore this interview will be available after the date ONLY on BBCiplayer and ONLY for 7 days after today!
I hope I am wrong about this – but I’m fairly sure there wont be a podcast :-(

Heard the review on NPR and I can’t WAIT for the album to be released. I’m pretty young and had no idea who Gil was, but MAN his music sounds good.

I hope you remember me. We dated. Met at Black Expo in San Francisco in the 1970’s. I’m still a Heron addict!

Glad you’re back. I loved your albums (particularly “Winter in America” and “Pieces of a Man”)in the 70’s. Your poetry and lyrics were the precursors of the best Rap.

Glad you’re still in the ring! Saw you in Pittsburgh in ’83 a couple days after the murder of Maurice Bishop . .. and a few years ago New Years at Knitting Factory. I’ve been checking in now and then for years. Glad you’re back. You ain’t that new here. Lot needs to be said, now more than ever — ‘If you don’t stand for somthin, you’ll fall for anything.’

50 yrs old, living in dublin Ireland, good kids wife all intact, big fan of rory gallagher, still impressed with your music so don’t let me down with the latest release (they told me 10 yrs ago I had MS, which I have, music and articulation moderate my experience…..)

You are a very special person and an inspiration to so many. Your music and lyrics tell our stories and your heart speaks to our hearts. Don’t ever stop being who you are because you say it like we only wish we could. We love and appreciate you more than you will ever know and we all wish you the very best because you deserve it.
